Electronic devices policy and video

Whilst many schools ban mobile phones completely, we accept that for many parents and carers the journey to and from school can be a time where worry can set in until they arrive to us here at Woodlands, and also, we live in an age where communication is quick, easy and of course key. Many of us parents and carers find it reassuring to send a quick message to ensure all is OK. Which is why we allow mobile phones to be brought into school at their owner's risk and can be used before school, break, lunch and after school, just not allowed in the building.

We encourage our youngsters to go to Pupil Services if they need to make contact with home during lesson time, although this should be rare. At Woodlands we strive for our youngsters to be mixing face to face and not be attached to their phones all the time. Look up and you will see a world full of life and possibilities, it's the people and experiences that make life what it is, not screens.
